It took some time for this song to reveal itself to me, and oddly enough I don't think it's entirely finished. There are ambiguous relationships between what we love and what possesses us. There are dark roads that lead to paths of enlightenment and unexpectedly, ecstatic moments do emerge, right in between chaos and emptiness.

Burn Bright

I was happy that Len chose this one for CK, because it really is a song that wouldn't have been written if it weren't for Yes. The prototype was written in a rooming house in Boulder, CO in 1974. I'd been traveling alone, wandering around in the mystical backwash of the latest in a series of reality shifts I'd been experiencing, that one at a Yes gig earlier that year. I updated it and revised the lyrics sometime in the late 80's and recorded this version a few years after that.

Many thanks and accolades to Len Richards for saving these songs from magnetic tape and adding a bit of post production trickery to these (finally) digitized versions.
