Pavan

A pavan,
or pavana, is a 16th century court dance of Paduan origin. While
the melody of a pavan is often lilty and lively, the basic rhythm
is slow and processional. It's doubtful that the original pavan
of Italy contained much syncopation or distortion. It's certain
there was a total lack of use of Carvin guitars at that time. And
hi-hats and kick drums weren't quite yet in vogue. But if those
instruments and techniques had been around, this song might have
rocked the Doges.
Tim
has written works for wind ensembles since the early seventies,
when he was in the seventh grade. In the early 90's, technology
made it possible for him to write, perform, and record music again
after a ten year drought. One of Tim's favorite things to do is
to find an arcane style of music and apply it to progressive rock.
He currently has two albums released, Tears and Pavan and
The Spirit Spring, and is working on a third called Ancestral
Voyage with Ed Schaum of New York.
Tim
is the Director of Development at Innovative Managed Care Systems,
Inc. of Dallas and Chief Technology Officer for Claimshop, Inc.
of Addison, TX. He lives in North Dallas with his beautiful wife
and daughter, two dogs and a cat.
