The Prodigal Sounds consists of Colin Nicholls, who when he isn't keeping up his day job as a computer programmer, produces music in his home studio. Much of the music was written some time ago by Colin and his brother Walter; but some of it is new and Walter hasn't heard it yet. Although the whole concept of a CD Album is getting less relevant in today's world, we continue to put effort towards some kind of collected work.
This will eventually be the first part of a suite of several thematically related songs, hences its lengthy introduction for what is essentially a short and simple song.
You stare into the mirror, it's
a window on a world you can't define
wishing you could get away, but
wondering how you'll ever find the time
Reach into the strange but true
a secret deep inside of you
a dream of past experiences
memories that you can not remember
You learn of myths and mysteries,
moving through forbidden zones you find
of how to make the great escape and
face the worm that hides inside your mind
Listen to the strange but true
the truth is almost clear to you
written out upon the page and
realise that nothing lasts forever
