"Before The Wind" is the central movement of a three-part piece. It is also an element of a growing collection of oceanic/nautical themed pieces. The full version of "Tropic Of Cancer" and its obvious counterpart, "Tropic Of Capricorn", are on our CD "Well May The Dreamers Dream". Terry's basic loops and chords were recorded on February 15, 2003. Sean's parts were put down on February 16. Recording and mixing with Terry continued through April 30th. This edit was mixed in spring of 2004.
We submitted this piece for "The Second Attention" because we felt it not only represented us and a facet or two of our sound, but also because the lead line owes much to great analog synth masters like Vangelis and Rick Wakeman.
Trecento is Sean Smith and Terry Skaggs who can be found most Saturday nights in Terry's dining room/studio working on music while drinking coffee and/or cocktails. Sean is a broadcast engineer by day and a husband, father, and bowler by night. Terry is a computer technician, avid traveler to Samoa, and boyfriend to Jan.
